Their best album closer, with Indifference second. Now (that I'm older), one of my top 5 PJ tunes

Sometimes I think it would be cool if there was a version of "Parting Ways" with Ed O'Brien on guitar and Phil Selway on drums, with really nice harmony vocals from Neil Finn, and then it occurs to me, "Wait a minute, there is a version of 'Parting Ways' with Ed O'Brien on guitar and Phil Selway on drums, with really nice harmony vocals from Neil Finn!" There was a guy on the old board (Porchball maybe was his name?) who did a lovely cover of this.

That’s a really great description.Strat wrote:I love everything about this song. It has this sense of a volcano ready to explode. Right beneath the surface. You can feel it, you know its coming....at some point....just not now.
The tension gets me everytime. Along with the subtle playing and the great lyrics and vocals.
Just love it.
Binaural is fucking exquisite.

That cover we were talking about is the best interpretation I've ever heard of a Pearl Jam song.

5 star song for sure. Really like the "volcano ready to explode at some point" reference in strat's post - this song just nails a certain kind of tension, like when a relationship begins to unravel.

Love that 7 Worlds Collide version. Pearl Jam should jam it out in the middle like that.
