You disrespected Emmy Lou which caused Big John to relapse into alcoholism.durdencommatyler wrote:I did what?liebzz wrote:Whoops. Underrated Rust Never Sleeps - that’s a line from Powderfinger altered for my musing. Listen to Rust Never Sleeps again. Lots of important lessons to learn, like who make the best lovers and whether rock and roll is here to stay.durdencommatyler wrote:I did what?liebzz wrote:Whoops. Three tracks into Zuma right now. Really digging this. I feel like I remember people telling me to skip this one back when I first started really diving into Neil's catalog. But this is sold AF so far.

I've always thought Undone was a sped up Don't Cry No Tears. Zuma hits me right almost everytime.
What do you guys think about Broken Arrow. I like Sleeps with Angles, but listen to Broken Arrow more.
And for Rust Never Sleeps, it's number 1 for me.

I am actually really looking forward to revisiting the record. It has to be at least fifteen years since I've listened to it.

Broken Arrow might be his most underrated album. I personally think it's the best post-Rust Never Sleeps Crazy Horse record. I like it more than Ragged Glory, and I love Ragged Glory.Hatfield wrote:Farmer John wrote:Tell me which songs you consider two star so we can argue about it.tragabigzanda wrote:Production on Zuma is fucking aces. Re: The Official Neil Young Thread
Rust Never Sleeps is totally solid. I can see what people love so much about it. And it's definitely better than I'd remembered -- especially the songs that aren't widely considered hits and/or are included on a lot of compilations (Ride My Llama for example).
I probably do have it ranked too low on that last ranking that I did. But there's no way I'd put it #1. It doesn't begin to touch Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, After the Gold Rush, or On The Beach.
Still, wonderful listen and I'm glad I gave it another spin. This dude has too many great albums.
