Ok, time to jump into the world of The Cure. I'm already enjoying myself listening to Pornography. The Hanging Garden, Siamese Twins and The Figurehead is a lovely three song run.

This album is some real heavy listening. I like it quite a bit but it probably won't be an album I'll be able to put on a lot. It will be perfect if I'm in a certain mood.

It's pretty involved, yeah. "The Figurehead" kind of frightens me.

Pornography (the song) frightens me a little right now. It's quite intense.

I'm also now listening to the album all the way through for the first time. The first song is sublime.

Well, that was a total shift in mood putting on The Head On The Door. :haha: The first song was really good. This is right up my alley.

The way "Pictures of You" starts with a totally different, more moody guitar part for the first minute or so and then breaks into the song you've only heard on a radio edit is *majestic*.

I really like that sound. It's all over the album. I think Robert is playing a six-string bass.

It's so thickly layered with Chorus peddles. Lush.

Six Different Ways make me happy. Interesting that they wrote songs like The Figurehead just three years before this.

I can't help but think the melody part on "Love Song" would've been played on Mandolin in the '90s.

The Cure's Disintegration sounds like the feeling of being in that whitewashed inbetween dream-like state before you go under in an operating theatre, and you're inhaling from the mask.

Just love how much dissonance and atonal melody there is in 'Disintegration', even though the bassline is fairly standard.

Really enjoying The Head On The Door. It's such a strange album with some confusing songs but it's really good. Thanks, guys.

How did they play Give Me It without Porl's anarchic sax?!

I know I'm talking to myself in here but that hardly seems reason to stop.
