Unless the vocal melody of the first 2.5 minutes changes, I doubt it.PHATJ wrote:You’ll come around one day.Monkey_Driven wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:After repeated listens, it’s all great except for Retrograde, which is still pretty bad

That’s possibly the least engaging part of the album for me too. But every time I listen it gets a little better to my ears. And then the final 2 minutes just absolutely soar. It will definitely fit well near the end of a set list.Monkey_Driven wrote:Unless the vocal melody of the first 2.5 minutes changes, I doubt it.PHATJ wrote:You’ll come around one day.Monkey_Driven wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:After repeated listens, it’s all great except for Retrograde, which is still pretty bad

Yeah, I bet it will be better live, especially after hearing Stone's comments about the tour rehearsals.PHATJ wrote:That’s possibly the least engaging part of the album for me too. Re: Gigaton: Official album thread
I used to post here in the mid-00s and have been lurking since (and also before that in the early 00s). I posted once again when "Dance of the Clairvoyants" dropped, but haven't after that.
Anyway, I just noticed something about the Gigaton artwork and wondered if it's been discussed already. This is in the inner sleeve photo (which I've seen referred to as the "Fat Ed" photo). If you take a look between Stone and Mike, there's a box with a lot of stickers on it. Of those, only two of them are clearly visible: one says "Roskilde Festival." Immediately above that one, there is a sticker with (what appears to be) Chris Cornell's signature on it.
Maybe this design detail is already well known, but I'd never noticed it before, and it seemed worth bringing up, especially since today marks the two decade anniversary of the Roskilde tragedy.

I think I contextualised my use of the word, I wouldn't have needed to use it before the last three albumsBammer wrote:“still”Ms Harmless wrote:I think one reason I still like this album is that it sounds like a rock album again, and not like an attempt to do The Disney Channel

Every time I try making a PJ playlist with Gigaton songs on it, I just end up listening to Gigaton.

Binaural songs mix well with Gigaton, and so does Riot Act to a little lesser degree.

Yeah it's been a while since I've listened to the whole thing. I've listened to maybe four songs here and there. DotC, Buckle Up being the two most frequent
