I dreamed I heard Yellow Moon last night and it was amazing. that's how I new it was a dream.

the only one I'm worried about is Sleeping By Myself. In my opinion that song worked fine just how it was. I can't imagine this song begin better fleshed out. Less has to be more in this instance. It has to sound less sincere from every description I have heard about it.

It will definitely sound less sincere, I think that's the point, whether it works or not.

If that's the point which it probably is from what I've read, it just sounds like a bad idea. They could easily use that as a June Christmas single release or a b-side on a 45. After this long they had to have something that would've worked better.

The only one would've been OTE. It appears they just couldn't get a version they liked, and I'm fairly sure that was the band and not BO'B. This irreverent folk song could be perfect to set up the more acoustic "folk" songs at the end, you never know. It breaks the final three up from the blues stomper which is LTRP. So the actual sequencing makes sense; the tracks just have to be good.

Absolutely. SoS ended up as more of an 80s juke box number, and we might get the same here.

oh I know. The demo was so much better. I have actually been listening to backspacer quite a bit lately because my girlfriend suddenly fell in love with it and wants it on all the time. When speed of sound comes on I just can't understand for the life of me what they were thinking. It is so overdone. The slower version might not have fit very well with the pace of the album but personally I would have rather had the demo as a b-side than what ended up on the album.

You could be right. I really like the Uke version so I have a hard time imagining that they will improve on it, especially from what we have heard in reviews. If it is done well that is all that matters.

I hope we get some studio version of OTE one day. Even if its on a lost dogs 2 type thing. I like the live version enough to think they could do a nice job on it. One day hopefully.

They are already better than backspacer and a lot of s/t on first impressions. Reason to be optimistic after the first leak but we all know future days and sleeping by myself are still to come. Lightning Bolt sounds much better and Getaway Car is damn good too.
