OK, so because no one's done it yet (and I want my MVP badge), here are the fade-outs on Riot Act:

Cropduster
You Are
Get Right (also contains handclaps - I'm surprised, as I'm looking for it, how much "unnecessary" instrumentation and layering there is on this album, including some of Lightning Bolt's extra percussion -- but it all works)
Help, Help
Bushleaguer
Arc (it clips the end, hardly worth talking about)
All or None (during what's probably my favourite Mike solo ever)

That the songs listed have fadeouts is a suprise to me, i guess i don't notice that shit. Or it doesn't get more than a passing 'huh'. Fadeouts are the least of my problems/worries with pearl jam these days.

They never bothered me before, but the fadeout on Johnny Guitar seems forced and has bothered me since the first listen.

The Rival one has always driven me crazy, because unlike most of them, it's not just fading out during the end of a jam. It fades out just as Stone is starting something really good.

This! I actually like the idea of ending Rival on a fade out, it makes sense for the song. But they just do it way too early.

Life Wasted and The Fixer have my votes as most annoying fade outs.

In Hiding never bothered me, but Low Light does a little for some reason. It's hard to say anything bad about Yield though. That album is like an older brother that I'll always look up to

Might dip my hand into the bandwidth fund, if you don't mind.

BO'B just fades these out for a split second instead of letting the actual instruments resonate fully to their natural end, and the problem applies to everything in my list with parentheses. You highlighted the same issue when you said "Why not just let Stone's little guitar figure resolve? It's silly."
I see what you're saying, but I only really see it as a "fade-out" if we don't get to hear the last note the instrument plays. By your logic, just about every song has a fade out, as hearing the instruments resonate to their natural end would take up a lot of space in an album.

Yeah, you're probably right. I just put it down when I noticed it.

Riot act: 6 (not counting Arc)
Backspacer: 2

It'll be interesting to see how many we have here. Gotta say, I'm fairly excited about Lightning Bolt fading out and into Infallible.

Hyperbole, with exclamation mark added for emphasis, because I'm not sure why you felt the need to tell me there wasn't going to be a pause.

Anyway, I'm interested because they haven't done anything creative with their song transitions for ages.
