the scene where he plays his song for john c. reilly was so great
super funny. And his eyes in all the movie man. I remember when this movie came out i was blown away with him....this dude actually can act!
I like how deeply fucked up John C Reilly is in this one. The same with the character of Tomei too.

Bening was great but the beat-you-over-the-head HISTORY IS HAPPENING was too corny for my tastes.

We also watched it this week. A big, fat yawn all the way through. I don’t remember anything beyond the fact that she smoked?
Yeah it was weird, the individual scenes had some absolutely stunning writing and acting--Bening and the kid's fights were great--but it didn't really build to anything? What a waste.
