Did you go direct to PJ or rely on some kind of intermediary step, like an early U2 ?ghost wrote:Mostly deprogrammed myself in my late teens, with a little help from96583UP wrote:so did you escape and de-program yourself, or did you have help?ghost wrote:First 3 shows

U2 actually came later. The intermediary step was slightly edgier christian rock, like these absolute badasses:96583UP wrote:Did you go direct to PJ or rely on some kind of intermediary step, like an early U2 ?ghost wrote:Mostly deprogrammed myself in my late teens, with a little help from96583UP wrote:so did you escape and de-program yourself, or did you have help?ghost wrote:First 3 shows

I was considering doing a discog listen to Mellencamp. There's a heap of early albums though. Should I bother with the whole lot or just do the American Fool through Big Daddy run?surfndestroy wrote:

John Mellencamp, Lonesome Jubilee Tour - sold out
I think you're on the right track. Maybe a quick review of the highlights from John Cougar and Nothin' Matters; I Need A Lover, Ain't Even Done With The Night,LetMeSleep wrote:I was considering doing a discog listen to Mellencamp. my buddy and I flew to dublin to see the second olympia theatre show on the HTTT tour.digster wrote:Biggest regrets for shows missed
Absolutely Radiohead. Had numerous chances to see them (including in a small theater for a Hail to the Thief warm-up show), but missed them each time.
Not to pile on but I saw Radiohead in a big shitty outdoor amphitheater and it is still to this day one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. This would have been the In Rainbows tour though, not sure what they're like anymore.Chris_H_2 wrote:my buddy and I flew to dublin to see the second olympia theatre show on the HTTT tour.digster wrote:Biggest regrets for shows missed

Saw them back to back nights in Boston in 2018, truly amazing. Their mastery of creativity and artistry was something to behold.Mickey wrote:Not to pile on but I saw Radiohead in a big shitty outdoor amphitheater and it is still to this day one of the best concert experiences I've ever had. I saw them twice, in 2008 which was fucking incredible and in 2018, which was good but kinda boring. I was super stoned too probably didnt helped.surfndestroy wrote:Saw them back to back nights in Boston in 2018, truly amazing. My brother! Did you get into Tooth and Nail or any of the other mid-late 90s alt rock stuff? I still listen to some of it from time to time, to my great shame.Hatfield wrote:^^^We lived the same childhood, all the way to the Petra step down and that quickly followed up by Pearl Jam salvation.ghost wrote:First 3 shows

Dang. Wuhan fucked a whole generation and potentially the entire live music industry.Jorge wrote:During the lockdown, kids who were 14–16 never developed a habit or passion for seeing live music.
