I dunno. All these definitely sound like Pj. Just lots of elements and influences being brought into the mix.

Precisely.

PJ are the sum of their influences. They always have been.

That's not a bad thing. The heart I the sleeve factor has always been a charming steig to this bands now. It's mentioned in any amount of reviews whenever there's a new release that they're big fans of NY/the who etc.

It's never bothered me at all cos I like those bands. I have no love for punk music and Pj's attempts at it usually leave me cold but that's another story.

They're better at channelling their influences without being blatant, than other bands, and even when they're really blatant it's usually good stuff. Off he goes, given to fly etc

Yes but I was saying it in the context of people saying they're not good now because they're ripping off other bands / artists. My question was, when haven't they done that?

Anyway, that's boring. Which bands channel their influences more blatantly? Wolfmother, Oasis, and...?

Bloody phone. Sorry.

Ah there's tons of bands out there that are blatant. Some of it is good stuff I enjoy, most of it isn't for me.

I got a few listens in today and am enjoying them more and more. I think getaway remains at the bottom of the 5 so far, but it's still pretty good.

Like, really good. I'm so pleasantly surprised by all of these. I still am hoping the better rip with showcase some more dynamics in LB. I feel like it isn't as soaring as the live version.

Are we talking Amish country? That makes all the difference.

I think I like that Lightning Bolt isn't as soaring as Unthought Known tried to be. It's got enough interesting structure and parts in it that "soaring" isn't really what I need from it. It's pretty thick with production tricks, another huge solo might've taken it too far over The Edge.

I think Getaway is still my favorite, but the others are all gaining and are within a few urban fathoms.

Actually, not as many people as I thought would. But one or two. I think generally people have been fairly respectful about it. Are you saying you're going to be my worst nightmare about it?

Nah, I couldn't give a shit, brother (about you listening to the songs. Not about you in general. I love you in general. Never change. Bro hug.)

Im not sure about people outside the club feel about it, but those of us in the club are happy to support those who wanna avoid leaks and have no hard feelings toward those who want to listen to them.
