Now that I can see into his back yard, I see him hoarding stacks and stacks of concrete pavers. I want some of them.

Speaking of concrete pavers, I just finished this small patio. We used to store our camper there, but sold it and it was all dirt. I wanted to plant grass, but was overruled.

Digging was a pain in the ass. Nothing but rocks and roots, around here. I actually have to pull them up when the crushed stone and sand gets here. I just couldn't wait to see what it'd look like. And I have time at home, these days. Lots of time at home.

The seller of the house I’m purchasing is offering to pay up to $600 for a home warranty plan, so I’m getting one regardless, but I’m curious if anyone here has one and has actually used it? After this first year, it seems like I would do better to put the amount I’d be spending per month into savings, but who knows.

We renewed for one year.

First year we got our A/C worked on twice, and then replaced. Our toilet tank cranked. That got fixed. And I can't remember what was wrong with our bathtub, but we got that fixed.

The second year, we got a new water heater and garbage disposal, and I got a broken oven fixed.

I was gonna give them a 3rd year, but they wouldn't let me renew b/c I used my home warranty too much.

Am I a fool for thinking I can finish my own basement within the next 2-3 years? I currently possess none of the requisite skills. (I would hire out the electrical and plumbing.)

We moved into out house thinking we would remodel our basement by ourselves. It's Year 8 and we are taking estimates from professionals.

I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

If you're even moderately handy and have time, no problem. Youtube is the holy grail for DIY projects.

anybody got one of those Rainbird irrigation systems? Our house came with one, it's supposed to be working, but it's not. Have done the requisite troubleshooting (turning the solenoids on in the control box, trying to perform the Test All Valves function), but so far I'm not getting any water. I've been on hold for 15 minutes and am getting cranky.

Is it on city water or a well?
