Can you imagine Layne singing on Anger Rising? Degradation Trip is the type of sound I would have liked AiC to go in more, like self titled.

Bargain Basement Howard Hughes and Spiderbite are both so heavy. It's a really good album that I listened to a lot when it came out. The vol 1/ vol 2 version I haven't been able to really get to know on as deep of a level though. Some of those songs are so long.

yeah, the same happens to me. I loved it but i have to be in the mood for it. Its super heavy and long, Jerry would have benefited to have a producer to cut a little bit some songs.

I've thought every Alice in Chains album released since they got back together has sounded like Degradation Trip Vol. 3, 4 and 5.

That's not a bad thing either.

Yeah, there are a lot of elements close to that album. Rainer Fog might be the most different one.

Black Gives Way to Blue is pretty slick sounding in spots. I would say Devil Put Dinos is closest to Degradation Trip.

A local shop had it but they sold it before I could check it out. It wasn't an original pressing. I wonder if it was like a bootleg or something? Have there been any limited runs of it over the years? It probably would have been too expensive for me to feel like buying but someday when they repress for sure. Degradation Trip is on vinyl, even the longer version.

Both DT versions, the vol1 and 2 and the original are great pressing from Music On Vinyl. I dont think Tripod was had another official pressing at all. I dont even remember the original one.

I have a purple jewel case. It's all busted up though. Love that dog. It's really great cover art. You can really read a lot into it with Layne basically being the missing leg of the AiC dog by the point.

Glorious cover art. I like the idea of the missing leg being everyone of them at some point. Layne has a very strong presence in the album, he writes a lot and plays a lot of guitar. But yeah i totally see it.

Yeah Layne definitely is a big part of the album but they couldn't even really tour because of him at that point.
