I was reading on another forum and this guy said he liked the new Rogue makeup better than the old stuff. Like, how am I supposed to take anything you say seriously after something like that?

I finally got around to seeing this tonight (Sir Paul McCartney concert kept me away last week and the fucker had the nerve to not play Magneto and Titanium Man, its a Wings song, look it up :D )

I really didn't think it was as bad as the critics were saying. I really got the feeling the critics are sick of comic book movies in general, and anytime one comes along that is not over hyped, they ramp up the "lets trash this comic book movie" The last few, Black Panther (they couldn't as it would come off as racist) Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel (sexiest) Infinity War / End Game (oh now youre just being trolls to get clicks) They looked at this movie as the last FoX-men movie, knew fans were excited for Marvel to get the Xmen back, so it was open season to trash it.

I am not saying it was a great movie, its no where near X-1, 2, DoFP, Logan, The Wolverine, or either DP. It had better focus than Apocalypse, was more thrilling than First Class (I loved that movie when it came out, but having just rewatched it, now I find it really rather boring outside of Magnetos scenes)

Ive seen people complain about no Shi-ar Empire / Star Jammers. Well in a single shot movie, you just don't have time to develop an entire alien race. So I had no problem with the bland shape shifters. They did their job fine.

The fight scenes were great, Beast and Night Crawler almost had a bit of an "Age of Apocalypse" Dark Beast / Night Crawler feel to them in the fights. Storm finally let loose with at least some weather, why they cant ever seem to write dialogue for her though is beyond me.

One thing I would have loved to have seen, was Xavier telling Magneto / Beast / Mystique, that he saw one of Jeans futures in Logans mind. "She kills me, and nearly all of us, I was trying to do what would prevent that from happening but I fear I only made it worse." at some point. Would have had a nice nod to the original movies.

I noticed in the credits Claremont was the "white house guest" Guess I'll have to watch it again and pay attention next time.

oh yeah, I did totally nail that Mystique death way back when the first trailer came out. Still cant believe the way they edited that, it made it so obvious

I just watched Dark Phoenix. That was a pretty ho-hum movie, but it wasn't Justice League bad. I don't think it deserved as much bitching as it got.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

This scene was quite good. So satisfying to watch Magneto turn that train car into recycling.

Nightcrawler going bezerker was pretty cool too. It's pretty sweet when he drops that woman in front of the train.

that's how I felt when it came out. I just rewatched it last week however and man, some of the dialogue is just off. I think its got some really weird edits or something. When Jean goes to Magnetos island, its almost like each character was their by themselves just reading the lines to the camera without anyone else reading the other lines to play off of.

hi
hi
how are you
things are bad
jean whos blood is that
eric im bad
what
you've killed
yes... whos blood is that jean

Theres a few spots in the movie like this where its real choppy

the fight scenes at the end though are probably the best in any X-movie. The Train is right up there with any super hero movie fight scene.
