Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
About 8-9 years ago, my mother had an episode of amnesia. She was alone at my parents' cabin in New Hampshire and a couple of neighbors came over looking for argument--walked up the driveway while she was gardening, yelled at her, called her and my father names. It upset her, so she went to take a nap. When she woke up, she couldn't remember where she was, who was with her, what day it was, or anything. She called an old friend, the only phone number she could remember (could not remember my father's or their home number), and that person was able to get in touch with someone else in the woods who went to sit with her and call an ambulance. My father was 2 hours away and met her at the hospital. She basically regained all of her faculties by the tie he got there. These were the kind of tests she was given. She's been on the watch for dementia symptoms for years, since her mother had Alzheimer's. They were not able to give any diagnosis at the time besides "temporary amnesia," probably brought on by stress, and she has not had any other episodes like this at all--she turns 70 next week.Mickey wrote:As I've said before, my grandfather had dementia. He took both of these tests. When he scored a 23/30, he had already called the police about the strange woman in his house (his wife). Trump is describing dementia exams, and he's describing them as if they are not dementia exams and it really was hard.
Which is all to say: I've wondered since the President started to voluntarily, inexplicably offer the details of his cognitive assessment if his shuttling off to Walter Reed was because of some acute event like what happened to my mother. As he said himself in the clip above, it happens to everybody eventually, and, sure, maybe he's been fine since his hospital visit and has a decade of lucidity ahead of him--but, god damn, I'd sure like to fucking know exactly why he took the test in the first place.

I think I took one of those tests once, but I don't remember it. Needless to say, I failed.

That's me! Now, for me, put 10 non-consecutive $100 bills in an envelope and mail them to South Portland, ME co: Sara Gideon. Again, this is just in your head...BurtReynolds wrote:that's what the gremlin in the corner keeps telling me, but I don't trust him.elliseamos wrote:This is all in your head, Burt. Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
I got a few letters at first, and then I didn't hear for months. Finally I got a letter that made no sense. He...he talked about things that never happened, jokes that-that we never... It was code. It just said...”Person woman man camera TV. Get me out."

Right, exactly! The tests afaik aren't standard assessments for 70+ year olds.Simple Torture wrote:About 8-9 years ago, my mother had an episode of amnesia. I wouldn’t let someone who impresses themselves by remembering “person woman man camera TV“ to play my save file on a game I wasn’t actually sure I was ever coming back to.

If you can handle a non-US related post for a second, she was a guest video quiz master on a local show I watch every week. She was on for about 5 minutes and was charming and funny and generally came across as totally gorgeous. I'm a big fan.verb_to_trust wrote:I'm very attracted to Sarah Cooper

I bet Trump hears those words a lot. "Rarely does anyone do what you just did."
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
