I have no idea what that is, does it give you steps to get to running a 5k from being a couch potato or something?cutuphalfdead wrote:I have the "couch to 5k" app on my phone and everything!Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:20 minutes, i walked half of it tonight and i still went just over a mile and a quartercutuphalfdead wrote:I know, right.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:Definitely get your work done, but there will always be something to keep you from doing it, you just need to make timecutuphalfdead wrote:I aint starting shit until I'm done with this bullshit at work.Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:Start tomorrow, 10 to 20 minutes will make a huge difference in how you feel, I've already got so much more energy after 5 dayscutuphalfdead wrote:I've been saying that I'm going to start running since like October.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
I'm doing the Gridiron Classic next Sunday before the Superbowl. It's the first ever NYRR race that I ever ran. I'm thrilled to be making my second annual appearance.
And I'm sorta hoping I can get in my 9 + 1 this year so that I'm pre-qualified for the NY Marathon next year. Could be cool to finally get that thing in. I'd hate to ever leave New York and not run the marathon.

I'm hoping I can run my first marathon this year. My wife an I are thinking about running the KC marathon together. It would be her fourth and my first. Neither of us have run KC before. Could be a fun way to get the first one out of the way before NYC.

I'm still too much of a weenie to run in the cold weather. I can't risk slipping on the ice without my vehicle.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
treadmill run: 7.5 miles in an hour. i'm really happy about it. hadn't done more than 6.5 in an hour since the fractures last spring. i alternated between 7 mph and 8 mph for the first 6 miles, did 8.5 mph for the 7th mile, and then had almost 5 minutes to get the last half mile. in hindsight, i wish i'd just put in another 20 minutes and gone for 10 miles.
