I don't agree. I do wish the vocal harmonies were more prominent but Marny and Emily are doing some fantastic instrumental work. The kind of stuff that's nowhere on Natalie's solo record. I actually hear more of their contributions on this than a good amount of TTLW. They even questioned their role during the making of that album (TTLW).

The sparseness of the instrumentals on this really showcase Maines' voice. At times it distracts from the cool little bits there are. That's what I meant by it seeming like a solo album.

Listen, I'm a fan of their early stuff. I listened to it a lot. But I just can't get into this. I think MD touched on some points that I feel the same way about.
