Truly horrible

I like the version from TB2K and wish that was the only time they'd done it

I’m not crazy about that tag either, but from the discussion I had with a record label owner in Portland, the royalties Dead Moon gets from PJ playing that live (plus the concert cd/digital sales) is basically half their income for the year and allows them live as working musicians

Damn that’s crazy. And here I thought PJ only stayed in it to keep the 10C staff employed.

PRAMG for a reason. Respect the PRAMG. Livelihoods are at stake.

That’s very nice but I still hate the tag.

The Jones Beach version of Daughter(It's OK) from Touring Band is probably my favorite single performance of a song by Pearly Jam.

I will also say that most other It's OK tags are bad, and Esta Bien is particularly corny.

I'm curious how that works. PJ pays them when? Record sales of the official bootlegs are probably a cut. Do bands pay royalties when they cover another group at a live show?

From my barely understood understanding, the artist usually isn’t the one who pays. Each concert venue buys license agreements from all of the performing rights organizations (BMI, ASCAP, etc), and those organizations are responsible for tracking cover songs and paying royalties to artists (every recording artist is associated with one of them)

PJ no longer plays venues that don’t have those license agreements, but there are venues that exist that don’t have those agreements, therefore artists technically aren’t allowed to play cover songs. I’m imagining those situations are rare now, but possibly more common (especially smaller venues) back in the 90s. I wonder if that attributed to the random show that had a setlist with zero covers, bc we all know PJ likes a cover.

Fuck, there is a moment with Ed talking about his dad, about a guy reaching him to give some old photos of the guy...man, it had everyone in the studio crying. Super emotional.

And i laugh so hard with Ed´s telling of Mike broking a guitar during soundcheck in Australia.

Such a cool podcast, i will revisit soon.

Has anyone ever made a comp of the worst live takes of each song?

Just listen to anything post 2012.

But seriously the Satan's Bed from State College 03 would be on this comp.

I like the two times they did it in August of 2000 and that's it.
