I'm not sure what I'm more excited for: to hear this album in full, or to read everyone else's reactions when they do.

Probably the former, to be honest, but there's not much in it.

Still here, no leaks for me. Shit, I haven't even listened to the wrigley field stuff.

Judging by some of the reviews, the album may be great when accompanied by alcohol. I'm considering buying some decent Lambrusco and downing a couple of bottles during my first couple of spins of the new album.

This is a fantastic idea.

I don't have a membership card, but I still qualify for membership.

Can't think of anything worse than to listen to selections from an album in 128kbs when there's less than a month to release. It's like reading a book in microscopic print with several chapters missing, but obviously it is too easy to give into the current consumer culture (1) where we act like little toddlers who want everything now (it's our right) without contributing anything towards that experience. Tried my patience, my patience tried.

At least it has stopped the incessant whining about "WHERE IS THE TRACKLIST? I CAN'T BELIEVE WE HAVE NO TRACKLIST", "WHERE IS THIS WEEK'S NEW VIDEO", "I NEED NEWS", "WHERE ARE THE SNIPPETS?" etc. Although I can't really read that thread anymore so maybe people still are saying these things.

1. The Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project sums up a recent study about people under the age of 35 and the dangers of their hyperconnected lives with what sounds like a prescription drug warning: “Negative effects include a need for instant gratification and loss of patience.”
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Seriously, this moral policing and waxing philosophical about a "gimme-gimme culture" needs to stop. It's just entertainment. Start talking about reading J.H Prynne and you might have an argument.

Perhaps we should call the short, initial track reviews Stippets.

Oh I'll stop then.

Actually, the majority of posts I was referring to in capitals were by you. "Where is my next fix", "give me more", "make my life worth living Pearl Jam".

No shit, you have an issue with me beyond the fact that I wanted to listen to the leak, or is that it? Because if that's it, you need to get over yourself.

No, I just used to like using this forum to keep up on what was happening with the album and then suddenly that thread was expanding at 50 pages a day. And I'm honestly not the one who needs to get over themselves...

I'm still a member.

Oddly enough, I'm not even that curious to hear the new stuff. I mean, I am, but I'm not. Whenever PJ.com allows me to dl that digital download is when I'll hear it. I think this is the least excited I've ever been for a PJ album, but that's probably more a reflection of my diminishing interest in music in general.

Oh, I agree with your post, but it's pointless to try and convince people that they are souring their experience by listening early to inferior pieces. Plus it's a bit of a penis-enhancer to get to listen to the tracks first, like keeping demos to yourself because of some bullshit request from the 10c, knowing tour information and not sharing so you can feel superior. Those of us in this thread don't really need it.
