Zane Lowe is a twat. He hyped it up to such a ridiculous extent it was bound to fail. It's nice enough though.
Ya it's not a bad song at all but Trani is a billion times better and so are several other KOL songs.
Well nearly the entire last album was worse, so that's OK for me

He liked all the cool music in the 90s but more recently I guess he'll push anything that makes him money.

Listening now. A couple of Counting Crows-style moments, and the start of 'Temple' sounds a bit like 'Friday I'm in Love' by The Cure.

Think I'm really loving this.

Liking it so far, and further reinforcing Beautiful War is possibly the best song they've done since Cold Desert.

There are 8 great songs here, I think, possibly 9. It's mostly very atmospheric and mid-tempo but that's my favourite side of KOL, all in all. It wipes the floor with the last album and is probably better than Only By the Night, but I have a sentimental attachment to that album so we'll see. Now I need to see whether the two penultimate tracks will grow on me ('Tonight' sounds as bland as its title so far), and whether I like the bonus tracks enough to wish they'd replaced the two I don't love... But let's see.

7.8 out of 10 and might climb higher.

'Work on Me' has a *very* similar verse melody to 'Notion' but that's OK because it's a bonus track.

And I *know* they've used the chord structure of 'Last Mile Home' before. Which song? Again, acceptable because it's a bonus track.

The chord progression sounds like a variation on "Cold Desert"'s. Not a fan of this one.

Yeah, the vocal melody sounds like "Notion" at times. I like the guitar work on this one.

Some of the vocal melody in "Tonight" sounds like "The Bucket".

'Tonight' can't possibly succeed after 'Comeback Story'... I'll have to judge it on its own terms.
