Yeah, it's not great.
This made me go check out all of her album covers. Everyone one of them is pretty terrible

wonder if she makes them herself

Does this even matter in the digital age?

This is a good album. She’s not breaking new ground, but it’s remarkably consistent. I’ll be the only one to rank them this way, but as far as established white chicks go this year, 1 T Swift 2 Alanis 3 Fiona.

someone should challenge her to make an album cover without using a picture of herself. frickin' narcissist.

Was it the video for “Thank you” where she was naked? I just remember David Spade on Hollywood Minute on SNL showing a still from the video and referring to her “monster box.” :haha: Never heard it before or since.

Not that it matters but Feast on Scraps is an after thought B-Side and outtake collection. It's never felt like a proper album to me so I don't ever think about the cover art.

Yes
But at least they hired and paid an artist to do that, instead of asking their 13 year old nephew.

Avocado´s cover is way better than pretty much every cover from Alanis. She always had the worst ones.

Got my copy of the new record on vinyl yesterday. Super excited to give it a spin. Oddly, it's the first Alanis record I've ever owned on vinyl and also the first Alanis record I've ever NOT owned on CD. So far.

Couple weeks in and I'd say:

Pedestal
Smiling
Diagnosis (biggest gain since first listen so far)
Her
Nemesis
Reckoning
Losing the Plot
Reasons I Drink
Sandbox Love
Missing the Miracle
Ablaze

I like Missing the Miracle and Ablaze. Each are fine songs but they don't totally work for me in the context of the record. It's already a short album but if she cut those two, this would be a perfect record.

Can't wait to hear b-sides/outtakes. There's often one or two that are better than much of what ended up on the record.
