Re: Here comes the story of the hurricane
Finally just got power back 2 hours ago, had been out since Tuesday around 3pm. Such a weird storm for my area - pretty much just very light rain and nothing serious except for a 3 hour period of really intense wind. Top half of a large evergreen snapped off and went through my living room wall, trees down all over the place, 96% of my town lost power for several days.

My "in laws" live in western Connecticut and still don't have power from Isaias. I live where the storm made landfall and we were only without power for a day. Wtf.

Glad to hear that's back for you, Rob. Strange that it took so long. That's awful.

Part of it could be the equipment utilities use in more hurricane prone areas. In Florida for instance, they use reclosers that can reset themselves after a temporary short. More conventional solutions require a lineman to go out and reset.E.H. Ruddock wrote:My "in laws" live in western Connecticut and still don't have power from Isaias. Re: Here comes the story of the hurricane
CT has been an absolute clusterfuck with the energy companies, in most areas there was zero movement as far as clearing or electrical work done for at least two full days.simple schoolboy wrote:Part of it could be the equipment utilities use in more hurricane prone areas.
