Part of it could be the equipment utilities use in more hurricane prone areas. In Florida for instance, they use reclosers that can reset themselves after a temporary short. More conventional solutions require a lineman to go out and reset.
CT has been an absolute clusterfuck with the energy companies, in most areas there was zero movement as far as clearing or electrical work done for at least two full days.
CT has multiple utilities? Its such a tiny state. Why?

I thought my A/C broke, and I was feeling the duct work transmit it's death shudders through the floor.
I want to hear more about the duct work and its death shudders through the floor please

What, I mean, it was just a little vibration through my floor.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

do people find themselves feeling bad when they see this, or kind of hoping it strengthens and gets really worse? when it's not headed for your town

it's terrible but tbh, i always seem to kind of be rooting for these to get stronger. my silent reflex

like we love the carnage, if it's not happening to us

schadenfreude

i hate myself

Gonna be a rough one. I worked out of Cameron a few times. Basically a swamp. It's in the eye now.
