After at least 50 listens it still sounds fresh to me. I don't know how to compare it to anything pre-Backspacer, I'm just happy it exists.

Listening again now for the first time in a several weeks. It sounds fantastic, still. I get excited with each new song that starts. Gigaton is a great album.

I rarely listen to full albums in one sitting. This album works so well in little bite sized (2-4 song) chunks.

That's Retrograde for me.

the opening 4 song run is the only reason i seek this album out

listening to the songs after is like waiting to recapture that magic but it never comes

Listened to this on my run for the first time in a while. Those opening four songs are indeed so great. I don’t think there is a drop off though. I keep hearing more reasons to listen to Seven O’Clock, Never Destination, Buckle Up, Comes Then Goes, River Cross...but Retrograde just keeps getting better with each listen.

This whole album is great. What is really nice about listening to this now is that it finally feels lived in and worn to me, like most other Pearl Jam albums - that sense of real familiarity with the songs and the sequences and comes with hearing an album a million times but loving it all the same. It’s part of the canon now.

For me, the more I listen to Gigaton, the less I can listen to Lightning Bolt. I thought LB was great when it came out, but the bar has been raised too much for me to really enjoy it the same way now. I guess this is how a lot of you felt when LB came out, based on your love of older PJ. Maybe I've finally caught up with y'all.
