I really don't think it's outrageous for LeBron to be outside of someone's top 5. Personally I'd have Jordan, Magic, Bird and Kareem above him...then its between Duncan, LeBron and Kobe for 5th. I'd probably go in that order. LeBron 6th.

I'd take Duncan over Kobe every single time.

Yeah I agree it's really between Duncan and LeBron for 5th and I go back and forth about that. Kobe is 7th at best. Then Oscar and Russell and then I have a bunch of guys fighting for 10. I guess even Russell and Oscar are tough since those a reputation picks I never actually watched them except for some old footage. Prob go with Zeke and Hakeem or Shaq if I we're just talking people I actually watched. 10 is still a bunch of options.

Separate all the moment to moment drama in Lebron's career and it will be next to impossible to ignore how remarkably consistent and productive he has been for 17 seasons. His longevity in being in the Top 5 of active players will be the thing that puts him in my Top 3 or 4. He's essentially had Bird and Magic's primes combined.

I like both Magic and Bird but man. LeBron is top 2 even if he retires right now. If a person is going to have him lower I think you have to go Kareem/Wilt/Russell. I think it's a really tough argument that any guard or forward besides MJ has ever been better.

Paul Pierce's insecurity and general patheticness never stops being funny.

I agree LeBron wins the all time longevity award. I'd take Bird and Magic in their primes.

I consider myself a hardcore Celtics fan and I feel I speak with some authority when I say that Paul Pierce is an all time wingnut.

As much as I love that 08' Celtics team it was probably the greatest collection of assholes since the bad boy Pistons.

When I think “overrated” the first names that come to mind are Paul Pierce and Dwyane Wade.

I never thought of Paul Pierce as overrated. He was rated. Like Draymond said people didn't love him like Kobe. He's was never been put in that class.

Yeah my instinct is to agree with both of you: to call him overrated initially, but then if you think about it there isn't really anybody banging a drum for Paul Pierce. Paul Pierce is really the only person who overrates Paul Pierce.

So much for the frozen envelope. This is probably a weak draft anyway, But it’s interesting, that the NBA seems to enjoy having half a league of nearly if not entirely unwatchable basketball, with almost zero hope of ever turning that around.

Are you suggesting the NBA should have rigged the lottery in favor of Eastern Conference teams?
