Watched Greyhound today with my dad. Not much at all in the way of character development, but I really enjoyed it

Re: What movies are you watching?
Independence Day is on Tv. So, im watching that.
Its amazing how young Bill Pulman looks and how terrible of an actor he is. He's perfect for spacecballs, but watching him in this it seems as though he still thinks he's in spaceballs.
Also, this movie still rules.

Definitely one of those films that I am very happy I saw on the big screen, the sequence leading up to the UFO emerging from the clouds and then covering NYCStrat wrote:Independence Day is on Tv. So, im watching that.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Is it f'd up that I laugh every time I watch the decapitation sequence? It's been twice now and I start giggling when I know what's coming then when it happens and the aftermath I laugh harder than
at most things in movies.
at most things in movies.

Everyone has different reactions to things. Yours is not a reaction or impulse I relate to. That scene is really hard to watch for me.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I loooove Hereditary, saw it 3 times and im thinking of watching it again. The decapitation scene is super hard. The shot of the actual head with all the ants? Toni Collete´s scream...the brother in the bed. Super fucked up.
BONE FUCKIN´ TOMAHAWK.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Yeah there might be something wrong with me. Laughed so hard both times. All the way through the sequence.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Some times things that are so shocking elicit a reaction similar to laughing my ass off. Its a laugh, but it doesnt have the same meaning or energy as laughing at a good joke.
I watched the Rock last night as it was on TV. Its so 90's and ridiculous but still enjoyable.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Yes, correct, thank you. Maybe I'm not a sociopath. It was a different kind of laugh. An "oh my f'n jesus christ god so horrible" kinda laugh.

It's the same reaction I have to certain Human Bass posts. I understand

Re: What movies are you watching?
I laughed at the decapitation scene but I also think Hereditary oscillated wildly between being chilling and cartoonish.

Re: What movies are you watching?
Yeah, to me the truly scary elements of the movie are concerning the realistic grief, shock, paralyzing emotions the family goes through. Very well done. The satanic stuff always comes across as over the top in any story to me and I think I always laugh at that stuff too.
