I read ol Schop in undergrad. He was fun. Totally insane. I'm not reading any philosophy right now, I'm working on my dissertation prospectus so it's mostly sociology atm.

While I'm on the subject, the letter from Schopenhauer's mother is one of my favorite things.

It's maddening that when people talk about subjective morality, they default to the "live and let live" view. That subjective morality just means everyone is free to act how they like. Is there a particular term for the belief that one's own particular, subjective morality applies to everyone, regardless of what everyone else's morals are? Surely one of these autists have invented a word for it.

Absolute dunderheads!

As we live under an uncompleted panopticon, anyone who leaves their cart on the weird bump at the end of the parking space or on a median somewhere should be checked for warrants or priors.

Wouldn't this exclude anyone in a food desert that doesn't have access to said shopping carts? What does this theory say of those that use them for their storage unit on the side of the road as they collect cans for deposit money? What about the carts that have the automatic locking wheel that get stuck when you've had to park in the plaza next to the store you're at?

Tl;Dr
This theory is stupid.

I consider my repeated failures to adopt a mindset of "let the dead bury the dead" to be one of my biggest weaknesses, but I am making some progress I think.

I just care about people too much! How dumb!

Actually it's just easier to worry about shit that is out of your hands than to get one's own house in order.
