Breonna Davis once dated a drug dealer, so she was gunned down in her own bed.
Philandro Castile was pulled over for a routine traffic stop, so he was shot in front of his girlfriend and kid.

The police were called to deal with trespassing and paralyzed a man with seven gunshots in front of his kids to KEEP him from leaving. Why the fuck do you think people want the cops to be replaced with social workers?

Let's try the "reimagined policing" model in a major American city. Violent crime will skyrocket and you'll have a bunch of dead social workers, but hopefully we'll finally be able to put that stupid concept to bed.

Yes, addressing non-violent criminals with something other than a gun will surely escalate into murder over and over again.

What violence was he committing prior to the arrival of the police? Violently being somewhere he wasn't supposed to be?

You'd have to ask his ex-girlfriend, but it was apparently bad enough to result in a 911 call. He had an active warrant for sexual assault, disorderly conduct, and criminal trespassing related to a domestic incident. He was arrested in 2015 for pulling a gun out at bar. This was not a stand up dude.

Sounds like the police could have arrested him years ago, but I suppose it wasn't a priority.

Also, we have long since discussed how few 911 calls actually need an armed officer to respond. Trespassing may or may not be on that list. How many white men get shot for trespassing?

No, attacking and burning down the livelihoods of people who have nothing to do with their problems is not tit-for-tat. It's brainlessly attacking innocent people, and those people have every right to protect themselves and their property with deadly force. And a look at the reduced level of rioting tonight in Kenosha suggests that you are wrong that defending yourself with guns encourages more rioting.
