I refuse to believe that he doesn't say "It's all delivery"

Can anybody ever hear an "in the" in that line? EVER?

Leave it to Eddie to botch a line about how its all in the delivery.

Im sorry but he does NOT say "in the"
it's all delivery
says the messenger who is now dead,
it's all in the delivery
I didn't see him but I heard what he said
The liner notes say "It's all in the delivery" but I agree that he's actually singing "it's all delivery." It doesn't bother me.

The liner notes also say, "it's all in the periphery," which is also what I hear him singing in the song. I hear:

it's all delivery
says the messenger who is now dead
it's all in the periphery
I didn't see him but I heard what he said

I'm also notoriously bad and deciphering Eddie Vedder so...

oh shit yeah, momentary loss of memory; the second line is indeed "it's all on the periphery"

I hear him slurring together some of the words, so "all in" becomes "all'n" and "the delivery," "th'delivery."

As usual, Ed is trying to cram too many syllables in. To me, it actually sounds most like "it's all th'livery".

The one that still bothers me is from SBWM, right after "we are each of us fucked" (still one of my favourite Ed lyric/vocal delivery combos ever :nice: )

He's clearly not saying "I can hear ya singin' in the distance" like in the previous and later verses. Some early attempts at lyrics had it as "I'm in danger..." which is clearly wrong too :?

To me it sounds something like...

"I win dear [or "went here"], fillin' in the distance"

...which is clearly wrong too, but I'm pretty sure hear the 'd/t' and 'f' sounds underlined.

Anyone with better ears care to try and work out this dilly of a pickle?

Box (er) or the bag.

Poor UPS employees, forever confused. Ten Club shipping rates not withstanding. I suppose it’s all in the delivery.

Maybe a dig to Brendan? He praises Josh for not making this one about himself, when there is already 5 other people doing that.
