That looks like a Villinueve film and I love it. I'm excited for this again. And was that Bautista? I like seeing him get work.

Boring and captivating is a good way to describe it.Strat wrote:I remember watching the Original as a young teenager. Maybe i was home sick from school one day and it was on TV while i was down in our basement with the lights off. I remember being captivated. I watched it maybe 10 years after that and felt bored out of my mind.
Perhaps i should watch it again.

Yeah, I admit to having a hangup about hunky A-listers taking me out of the sci-fi headspace. But maybe this casting will turn out to be spot-on.Orpheus wrote:Paul is essentially a male witch so Chalamet and his vibe are perfect.

I’m really enjoying the book. It’s so dense and over complicates itself to start off with but then that eases off as you get into it. I am only about 200 pages on though.
But really enjoying it so far.

The book is really great to read twice, after you know the basic plot and aren't like "wtf" every five seconds it really is super enjoyable to go through again.
Also definitely read all the Appendices if they're in your version, they help understand things a lot.

I just found the appendices at the back of my book last night!! I love a good appendix I do.
Wish I’d known it was there to begin with but it was like clockwork orange. You pick up what they mean as you go without looking within whatever the conversation is about.

Re: Movie: Dune (2020)
The entire arc of the main narrative that runs through Dune and its sequels is pretty stunning in its scope. The latter books tend to be a bit repetitive but it's thrilling to see the narrative adequately brought to an end.dimejinky99 wrote:I’m really enjoying the book.
