Re: Next-Gen Consoles (Coming 2020-ish)
I'm a Playstation guy, but I'll hand it to Microsoft for at least announcing a day and time and (so far) sticking to it. Understand it may not be Sony's fault if retailers jumped the gun but I doubt we'll see this happen with the Series X pre-orders go live. Sony promised we'd know when pre-orders went live but yesterday's announcement of orders 'going live as soon as tomorrow' was horseshit. Everything felt unorganized and chaotic. It's an inexcusable mess. yeah I'm pretty butt hurt right now too

What percentage of software goes to retailers? Again, I would assume not much. Accessories, I can see that.

Depends on the price, but full price games can have up to a 30 percent profit margin.tree_ wrote:What percentage of software goes to retailers? Again, I would assume not much. Accessories, I can see that.

The worst part is that Sony made a point of emphasis saying "they won't just go on sale" and that's exactly what happened.Monkey_Driven wrote:Yeah, it sucks.Revelator wrote:I'm a Playstation guy, but I'll hand it to Microsoft for at least announcing a day and time and (so far) sticking to it. Also every retailer's notification system failed except for Best Buy. That pissed me off.

Wow. Why then, in this day and age, don't software companies just sell directly to consumers?Monkey_Driven wrote:Depends on the price, but full price games can have up to a 30 percent profit margin.tree_ wrote:What percentage of software goes to retailers? Probably part of the terms and conditions of being liscensed with a certain gaming company.tree_ wrote:Wow. Will bots buying consoles be more prevalent with a known pre-order time and date?

I was being serious. Other than Nike drops, what would necessitate a bot?Monkey_Driven wrote:SureCopperTom wrote:What are the buying? Sneakers?Monkey_Driven wrote:Absolutely.CopperTom wrote:Are retail bots a thing?

I'm finally in a position to cop one of these day 1 but I think I will wait because I'm not particularly enthused with any of the launch stuff. But maybe that will change.

Are any of you planning on switching platform?
I'm a ps4 user, but I'm very jealous of gamepass, plus my ps4 kinda sucks for streaming. I'm on the fence
