I'm a Playstation guy, but I'll hand it to Microsoft for at least announcing a day and time and (so far) sticking to it. Understand it may not be Sony's fault if retailers jumped the gun but I doubt we'll see this happen with the Series X pre-orders go live. Sony promised we'd know when pre-orders went live but yesterday's announcement of orders 'going live as soon as tomorrow' was horseshit. Everything felt unorganized and chaotic. It's an inexcusable mess. yeah I'm pretty butt hurt right now too

What percentage of software goes to retailers? Again, I would assume not much. Accessories, I can see that.

Depends on the price, but full price games can have up to a 30 percent profit margin.

The worst part is that Sony made a point of emphasis saying "they won't just go on sale" and that's exactly what happened.

Also every retailer's notification system failed except for Best Buy. That pissed me off.

Wow. Why then, in this day and age, don't software companies just sell directly to consumers?

Probably part of the terms and conditions of being liscensed with a certain gaming company.

Will bots buying consoles be more prevalent with a known pre-order time and date?

I was being serious. Other than Nike drops, what would necessitate a bot?

I'm finally in a position to cop one of these day 1 but I think I will wait because I'm not particularly enthused with any of the launch stuff. But maybe that will change.

Are any of you planning on switching platform?

I'm a ps4 user, but I'm very jealous of gamepass, plus my ps4 kinda sucks for streaming. I'm on the fence
