I honestly wouldn't be that surprised if four Republicans come out like this. Murkowski, Collins, Romney are three, and Lamar Alexander has said there shouldn't be a vote in 2020, and he's retiring this year and doesn't have to worry about re-election.

There's still a three week window between the new Congress and Inauguration Day, so Alexander's GOP replacement could easily wreck that.

I think anyone who ascends to that level of power is a borderline sociopath who isn't going to get the same satisfaction out of playing golf and being really rich like a more normal person would aspire to do. More times than not, they will cling to power until their last breath.
