Booted up Sunshine for the first time since high school. Cutscenes look like crap, but actual gameplay looks good for a port optimized to 1080p.

I get that Mario 64 is a very important game, but I just don't enjoy it very much.

It's probably because I never really played it when it was current, so I'm much less forgiving of the mechanics and camera.

That's fair. I fully recognize my complete inability to objectively critique the game.

If you aren't enjoying Mario 64 or Galaxy, just wait until you start playing Sunshine.

It's fun. Finished first a couple of times. It can get a little repetitive at the beginning when it seems like there are only a couple of stages available to you. But it's fun to run through a castle stage and throw Bowser onto someone else. And very satisfying to have a lot of enemies show up on your screen while you have a star.

What's not fun is having random cheep cheeps fly up from the bottom of the screen when you're not expecting it.

A few weeks ago i finally started playing Odyssey. I haven't played a Mario game since 64. It's not that I didn't want to i just didn't keep up with the Nintendo consoles for a long while....anyways i'm having so much damn fun. Finished the story, and now i'm just going back and collecting all those moons i missed. Sitting at about 420 i think so far. After that i think i will be picking up 3D All Stars so i can have a go at Galaxy and Sunshine.
