Time, manner, and place restrictions on protests have long been held to be appropriate. So, no, it turns out that you can't block a street at midnight and then complain that your 1A rights are being violated. Also, declaring a riot is trivial if you have protesters in the street without a permit.

Yeah the person who rented the truck was one of the Bail Fund organizers. She wasn't happy about being found out: https://streamable.com/xyl9uh

LMPD broke out the real guns after the shooting. Looks like they were arresting anyone they could get their hands on.
