Pretty much my whole life yes. But then I started playing lots of tennis. And I was the only dude with no shirt. So I got some super breathable shirts and now I'm wearing them for tennis and running. It's also getting cooler outside. I have worn a sweater for a few runs recently. What about you??lennytheweedwhacker wrote:yeah same...do you run topless?Dev wrote:no but i hope one daylennytheweedwhacker wrote:have you ever banged a chick you met on the running trails?Dev wrote:they are pretty thicclennytheweedwhacker wrote:post a pic of your calvesDev wrote:I ran 10 yesterday

breathable shirts, but i've seriously considered going the shirtless route recently...even when it's not hot i sweat so much and the shirts get on my nervesDev wrote:Pretty much my whole life yes. Strava says I did 7:03km in 44:19. Happy with that.
Think I’m going to try being kind to everyone a chance.

I saw my GP this morning. I've dropped 15 lbs since I saw him last. He said from what he's seen the pandemic has made fat people fatter and skinny people skinnier.

Re: The Running Thread
Anyone have half Ironman experience? Would like to try to do a self times one in December and want to have an idea of what training should consist of.
Half Ironman distances are 1,900 metre swim, 90 km bike and 21.1 km run.
Right now I am thinking,
Mondays: 30km bike and 8-10km run
Tuesday: 1500 metre swim and 8 km run
Wednesdays: 20 km bike and 12-15 km run
Thursdays: 1500 metre swim and 8 km run
Fridays: 12-15 Km run
Saturdays: 1500 metre swim and 7 km run
Sundays: 50-70 km ride
Is that too much?

Re: The Running Thread
Ironman is too badass for me. I think the swim would take me out. Depending on what order it comes in.

Re: The Running Thread
I can do the swimming and biking easy. It's just keeping it together for 21km after the bike ride. Yesterday I did 4km after a 21km ride and it was rough but was my first mx of the two and have just started this journey. It will be a nice but doable challenge for an old guy.verb_to_trust wrote:Ironman is too badass for me. I think the swim would take me out. Depending on what order it comes in.

Aside from the physical agony, which is deterrent enough for me, who the hell has this much free time?surfndestroy wrote:Anyone have half Ironman experience? Would like to try to do a self times one in December and want to have an idea of what training should consist of.

It’s 90 to 120 minutes a day. Working from home, it’s the time I was spending commuting. So I see it as not costing me any time and leaves me nice and mellow in the evening.Bammer wrote:Aside from the physical agony, which is deterrent enough for me, who the hell has this much free time?

today went better than it felt, i suppose...my motivation to get out there was lacking and i was just trying to get it over with, but overall it was good pace-wise
