You leader's response to you is a shrug, "we got the house wrong, and sorry, that sort of thing happens. No one is at fault.". This wasn't a tree falling on her house. This was people shooting her. Shooting at a person that shot at them and missing him, missing so badly they were actually charged with a crime of negligently missing.Bi_3 wrote:verb_to_trust wrote:I hope Barkley doesn't get cancelled for what he said on Inside the NBA last night. Shaq agreed:
“ I have to agree with Charles, this one is sort of lumped in. You have to get a warrant signed and some states do allow no-knock warrants. And everyone was asking for murder charges. When you talk about murder, you have to show intent. A homicide occurred and we're sorry a homicide occurred. When you have a warrant signed by the judge, you are doing your job, and I would imagine that you would fire back."
Even if they'd had the right house, the level of fire power and the use of a no-knock warrant and an assault team is absolutely absurd for a drug offense.
The response of Breonna's community is pretty tame given the number of people who fucked up that night, and the fact that none of them appear to give a shit. The laws are wrong. The execution of the laws are wrong. The detectives we're wrong. The assault team was wrong. Fuck anyone who supports keeping that pile of shit in place with a que sera sera.

Weird stuff has been happening at the Louisville Unitarian Church. Apparently the police have effectively been honoring it as a sanctuary? Bizarre, especially considering that as a Unitarian church it sure as hell shouldn't qualify as consecrated ground. Also, dude with the night vision goggles - how do you have enough money for that but not enough sense to honor curfew? Oh, and the Unitarians are no longer for gun control?

There is so much terrible info out there about this. Regardless of the status of the warrant, cops routinely knock and announce and take the door at the same time. Even if they did announce, only 1 out of 11? 12? neighbors claimed to hear they announced themselves.macphisto wrote:a) You don’t need a CCW inside your own house.verb_to_trust wrote:A lot of people who get their concealed carry react like cowboys at any chance they are given.96583UP wrote:wow i have not paid attention to the details of this case but i don't understand how the boyfriend's initial action is justifiedPHATJ wrote: Even the USA Today has reported that she wasn’t asleep. If you are awoken by a yell or a door getting knocked in, how well did your asleep brain process that info? I am suspicious of ballistics science in general (FBI bullshittery, primarily) but I am unaware of anything particularly conclusive of ballistics demonstrating Walker shot the cop. Cops shoot each other with depressing frequency. We need more jurors to acquit on charges like this (for Walker) to dissuade cops from pulling these late night raids if they cannot establish a significant reason to do so.
Its not they didn't find anything, its that they ignored the postal inspector. If they included the postal inspector's report in the affidavit, the warrant probably wouldn't have been issued and they would've missed out on some overtime.

Louisville really frustrated that the cops are actually doing something. Probably only a matter of time until they radicalize each other into more violent measures than burning cars and ducking into a church.

This was only the first incident where he hit some people. He hit another guy later. Apparently everyone just sort of laughed it off, dusted themselves off and kept watching the show.

Re: The Protest Thread
Our first house was next to rentals, and There were a few issues the 9 years we lived there. One sold drugs from the house every once in awhile (saw a few transactions). One night, we were upstairs preparing for bed, and we heard the storm door opening and a person knocking and trying the door handle. That was the only time I had my gun pointed at the front door down the steps while my wife called 911. Turns out the guy was wanting the house two doors down for a drug deal. What’s worse is the MFer left a beer bottle in our yard. Asshole. But with the known activity with the rental properties I was constantly on alert.macphisto wrote:a) You don’t need a CCW inside your own house.verb_to_trust wrote:A lot of people who get their concealed carry react like cowboys at any chance they are given.96583UP wrote:wow i have not paid attention to the details of this case but i don't understand how the boyfriend's initial action is justifiedPHATJ wrote: Even the USA Today has reported that she wasn’t asleep. If the Breonna Tayler apartment complex was prone to criminal activity I can se how the boyfriend would have his gun at the ready. But if he’s also dealing drugs I guess you have a gun and/or paranoid to begin with.

A month or so ago downtown St. Louis was seeing a rash of street racing and donuts like this, and the cops weren't doing anything about it. I think they put up concrete barriers near some bridge entry ways to discourage the street racing.BurtReynolds wrote:It was a pretty slow Saturday, not living up to the hype, except Seattle being Seattle.
