PARIS — The French government Thursday announced a set of measures it said it was ready to impose to contain a rapid resurgence of the coronavirus.

For weeks, the country has relied on a regional system to implement restrictions in areas where transmission rates of the virus are high. On Thursday, Health Minister Olivier Véran said Paris could soon join the “maximum” risk category, which would mean another complete shutdown of bars, restaurants and cafes.

Its not that it "only" lives there, its just that poorly ventilated indoor areas where people tend to not socially distance and also have to talk loudly to/at each other are particularly good corona infection hotspots.

That article that Bi3 (I think) posted earlier is actually really interesting on this sort of stuff.

My home state had it's first day since March with zero COVID-19 deaths this week.

Our state is slowly climbing again. My clinic has seen a rise in positive cases as well. We went from around a 25% positivity rate to between 35 and 40% positives.
