Hear the sirens.
Hear the circus, so profound.
I hear the sirens
more and more in this here town.

Let me catch my breath to breathe
and reach across the bend.
Just to know we're safe,
I am a grateful man.
This light has been alive
and I can see you clear:
how to take your hand
and feel your breath,
or feel this someday will be over.
I pull you close, so much the loss
knowing that nothing lasts forever.
I didn't care before you were here.
I danced with laughter,
with the ever-after.
But all things changed. Let this remain.

Hear the sirens covering distance in the night.
The sound echoing closer,
will they come for me next time?
Oh every choice, mistake I've made, it's not my plan
to send you in the arms of another man.
And if you choose to stay, I'll wait, I'll understand.

It's a fragile thing, this life we lead.
If I think too much, I can't get over.
Wound (?) by the graves by which we live
our lives with death over our shoulders.
Want you to know that should I go,
I always loved you, held you high above too.
I study your face; the fear goes away.

It's a fragile thing, this life we lead.
If I think too much, I can't get over.
Wound by the graves by which we live
our lives with death over our shoulders.
Want you to know that should I go,
I always loved you, held you high above too.
I study your face, and the fear goes away.
The fear goes away.
The fear goes away.
The fear goes away.

This is a nice song on my first listen.

But what's up with the drumming. It's too loud, wish it had been more subdued. Has a Speed of Sound vibe.

And Mike's solo is cut way short! It sounded like he was about to keep going, but it was trimmed.

okay, after 5 or 6 listens it's a very pretty song so utterly unlike anything I expected to hear from them--almost like everything that I expect from pearl jam is there and turned inside out.

It is utterly cheesy in a glorious way because, why it has just about every cheesy affectation you can think of short of strings, I do not doubt for even one second that this is absolutely 100% sincere--like someone chose to adopt every one of these conventions because they love them without thinking of them as conventions. It's just bizzare.

Haven't gotten to the lyrics yet.

Eddie sounds wonderful

The music is very pleasant...

This song will be great or a skipper based entirely on one factor and one factor only: Will I want to belt this song out at the top of my lungs.

I have no idea. If I do it'll be amazing. If I don't it'll be an ipod shuffle listen.

God this song is beautiful. I'm a sucker for cheesy stuff, but I think it's great. I'm already singing along on my second listen. I wish the solo had been longer. But regardless, I'm really liking it.

But the riff sounds different from the mike vignette. It's like it's been trimmed here as well.

I'm still mostly moved by whatever Ed's contributions are to this song. Mike and his solo can go hang out by the train tracks.

It's made me to get my guitar out to learn it.
I haven't done that for pj since binaural.

It's that good and more

The cheesy production on this song is actually no worse than modern Kings of Leon.

Hence why some people hate them.
