i've been going out into the world for work for six months - into just about every environment you can think of - and haven't contracted covid. i wear a mask, wash my hands, and distance from people whenever possible. it works.

its not just about where or where he was not standing in regards to trump during the debates. Trump didn't catch it at the debate. its more a comment on how taking the virus seriously, wearing a mask, taking the required precautions has so far worked in his favor while trump derps around as trump does.

There are a lot of ways this could exacerbate the Supreme Court fight. Quarantine needs, Senators falling ill and being unable to vote, etc. i’m sure it’s why Mitch McConnell’s first words this morning were a reassurance about the nomination.

(Actually, I think the dumbest timeline version would be that he gets flu-level sick for a few weeks and doesn’t want to look weak, so they hole him up in the White House, get evasive about the details of his recovery, and America becomes a three week exercise in “the President is secretly dead / saving the world” conspiracy theories on both sides.)
