Pretty funny, but:

(1) Trump received 3 million fewer voters than the other mainstream candidate in 2016; and

(2) That election was really only that close because Trump successfully made the election a referendum on Clinton, who was not an especially popular politician.

He’s still attacking Obama and Clinton too though.
He’s unable to land anything on Biden. He’s tweeting making states that have ‘gone to hell’.
He knows it game over. But looking at the reports this evening of 6 hour long lines to vote, and fake ballot mail boxes popping up in California it seems the shenanigans we all feared are now actually in play.

That’s fucked up.

You’re insinuating that anyone ever runs by highlighting their own policies and not just attacking the opponent?

It has nothing to do with policies, that’s how he ended up in office. The point is I don’t think people were fed up with Obama - he was quite popular at that time. Not being capable of effectively landing on the direction of the country, Trump instead made the election a referendum on Clinton, not Obama (at least in terms of effective messaging). It didn’t hurt that he had the assistance of Russia and Comey (Trump was reeling from the Access Hollywood tape when his political opponent is suddenly under investigation again and publicly so). Say it’s old news and I agree, but if we are being analytical about this, those events could easily have swayed the couple of thousands of votes that made the difference in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.

In any event, most campaigns are about BOTH attacking opponents and delivering at least a rough sketch message of the direction the country should go in the next four years. The latter has really taken a back seat the last two cycles.

The White House has reportedly embraced a declaration by a group of scientists arguing for a “herd immunity” strategy to deal with America’s coronavirus pandemic—days after the validity of the declaration came under question due to a number of apparently fake names among its expert signatories, including “Dr. Johnny Bananas.” According to The New York Times, on a call convened Monday by the White House, two anonymous administration officials cited the petition, titled The Great Barrington Declaration, which argues that COVID-19 should be allowed to spread through the population. The declaration’s website claims the petition has been signed by more than 15,000 scientists, but, last week, Sky News found dozens of fake names on the list of medical signatories, including Dr. I.P. Freely, Dr. Person Fakename, and Dr. Johnny Bananas.

Herd immunity is such bullshit.

We’ve all had flu at various points. Not one of us are immune to it.

What moron came up with the term?

Herd immunity works differently for flu than it would for COVID. COVID is one virus. Flu is, at least, dozens of different viruses.

It's a bad plan for flu b/c it will never work. It's a bad plan for COVID because it would kill 78 million people.

If herd immunity is so stupid then why are billions being sunk into vaccine development?
