You're right.OmegaprimeVKM wrote:Anyone trying to put a happy face on about this abomination...a question to you.
Do you ever find yourselves going to see films, not really finding it engaging, enjoyable, and are extremely indifferent when watching it. As you walk out, a friend asks what you thought of it. And your response is "Mmmm...it was okay...6/10"
Because it seems you're really trying to bury your heads in the sand right now. This is simply not acceptable stuff for a band of this calibre to be producing.
B, lock up the forum, too many people are wrong.

I don't go to shows, I don't buy albums I don't like and I don't think this band is ever going to make music that sounds like something I like, so... I'm on the board, but not really on board

Yeah, but sometimes that movie is Independence Day, and as much as I know I should hate it, I just can't and actually love it. Same with this song. And no matter what you think of this song, PJ has put out far crappier stuff IMO.OmegaprimeVKM wrote:Anyone trying to put a happy face on about this abomination...a question to you.

I'm not talking about *your* opinion many years on, or even mine. But when I first heard the entirety of Binaural, I was embarrassed about how bad and embarrassing it sounded. I thought my band were over. "Stock MOR shit" did go through my mind, in spite of the fact that RM were probably creaming over it.OmegaprimeVKM wrote:harmless wrote:This is what I thought PJ sounded like when I first heard Light Years.Lounge Lizard wrote:This is totally what we thought PJ would never sound like.![]()
Nowhere even close. This is stock MOR shit. Light Years has a great bridge and riffage. This is really, really embarrassing.

Yeah, but in spite of the fact this argument has my full support, I wasn't liking what I was hearing quite enough. I would probably jump all over that kind of decision because frankly you shouldn't be basing your levels of patience on a prior track record. But not knowing you personally you're more than entitled to make your own mind up - what I think is irrelevant.stip wrote:all the time. But if it is from a director that I like and respect, and I wasn't sure what I thought the first time I'll wait a while and multiple views to make sure more doesn't reveal itself.
I've made my mind up now though. This band jumped the shark back in 2006 and they are now 3 records into their extremely steep decline. I will not pay £100 to see them play Sirens, The Fixer, Come Back, Johnny Guitar, WWS and Mind Your Manners whilst Insignificance, Can't Keep, Faithful, Greivance, You Are and other tracks of that ilk are forgotten relics of a bygone era.
I really wish the bastards toured Europe in 2003, when their live shows were at their peak.

I'm pretty sure they pushed the droid I was looking for off a cliff, and replaced it with this digital chrome encased piece of shit that has a whole lot of stuff I don't need attatched to it like a can opener and a lawn mower but still does not work as well as my original droid.Lounge Lizard wrote:yeah.harmless wrote:Forget what you want(ed), do you still hate what you're hearing?Lounge Lizard wrote:Amiwrong?stupidmop wrote:Lounge Lizard wrote:I'd like them to age with the grace of Tom Waits.Dugg wrote:Just curious, what kind of music would you like them to be playing now?

I'd say it isn't but i want to hear the lossless version before i reach my conclusion. The compressed quality of this tracks can be misleading in this regard.Mike wrote:Is the word "Sirens" in "Hear the Sireeeens" autotuned?
