No, it's true. Nobody's really saying "the song is boring because of how Eddie sings it". It's just a boring song.

It's a boring song if you think it's boring. That's fine. But it's boring to read people saying it's boring every single day on what's supposed to be a fansite.

Right, and that's an issue you have to look within yourself to work out and come to terms with, but it has nothing to do with the point about how "Ed singing in his range" isn't the reason a lot of people are turned off by the song.harmless wrote:It's a boring song if you think it's boring. "Man of the Hour" is also within this singing range, and it's one of RM's most beloved songs.

Re: New Song: Future Days
I wasn't saying it was the reason people were saying the song is boring. But I do think that one possible up-shot of Ed (who isn't a great guitarist to begin with) writing a melody within his range and a set of chords to go with it, is that it might be boring. People thought Thumbing My Way was boring, possibly for this very reason. The End is not boring, but he can barely sing it. It's just meaningless conjecture but my thought process isn't totally illogical.theplatypus wrote:Right, and that's an issue you have to look within yourself to work out and come to terms with, but it has nothing to do with the point about how "Ed singing in his range" isn't the reason a lot of people are turned off by the song.harmless wrote:It's a boring song if you think it's boring. I just think that an acoustic ballad to end a rock album on a 'nice' note has got no job to do other than be 'nice'.

Good point. Just not looking forward to SBM leading into it. I hope it's more listenable than the early reviews make it out to be.harmless wrote:I just think that an acoustic ballad to end a rock album on a 'nice' note has got no job to do other than be 'nice'.

So, if Yellow Moon is great, FD will work just fine. SBM, even if it's just OK, will work as the palate cleanser before the final two.

After hearing Sirens I'm less worried about FD. If I can love this amount of cheese I can probably get on board with FD. I hereby abandon all of my principles, to be honest.Thejambi wrote:ah that's better. I forgot about Yellow Moon.harmless wrote:SBM / Yellow Moon / FD.Thejambi wrote:Good point.
