Re: Post Random Music-Related Thoughts You Have
The King is Limbs is a great example of how much better the songs are after the band has had a chance to play them live a bunch of times and develop them. I implore everyone who has written off that album to listen to the Live from the Basement sessions. The songs are so much richer and melodic.
To be sure, however, Separator is a top 10 Radiohead song of mine, so I’m partial.

I still only like the second half of King of Limbs, but that session they did gives me a greater appreciation for the other songs, which was your point anyway...Chris_H_2 wrote:The King is Limbs is a great example of how much better the songs are after the band has had a chance to play them live a bunch of times and develop them. I can understand that critique but I don't really agree.

I don't really like The Bends at all -- I got rid of it when I was decluttering a few weeks ago. Yorke's voice on it is extremely unpleasant to me.
King of Limbs, however -- now that's a record I dig.
I feel like Joey and I had a nice conversation about this once in the Radiohead thread.

I really like The Bends. The guitars, the melodies...the songwriting. I miss that era too.

A little. But it's not up its own arse as much as some of their later stuff.Jorge wrote:It is a little whiny
It's a pleasant and rather easy listen.

Listening to the Rolling Stone podcast with Melissa Etheridge. She does a subscription tv stream with different tiers. Every week she does 3 x 1 hour acoustic shows. Covers show, Deep Cuts show and a Saturday night concert with her classics.
Each are $10 a go or a monthly subscription for $50.
What a great idea.

Yeah, that's really awesome. Surprised more artists aren't doing something similar.LetMeSleep wrote:Listening to the Rolling Stone podcast with Melissa Etheridge.
