I'm two episodes in. It's holding my attention so far. Some of this stuff is a little too 2020 for me though.

It started to turn for me around the time Moira does that vineyard commercial.

But it doesn't really takes off and become the show it wants to be until S2.

Watching old episodes of Magnum P.I. Weird show. One day it's a crime drama, next a romantic comedy, then a war/action show...its all over the place. Sellick was really good though. And my god he is handsome. Chiseled out of granite.

Still going with Lovecraft Country. Great show as long as you don't overthink the plot. The historical events feel a bit shoehorned in at times.

"Where are we going this week, team?"

"Emmett Till's funeral!"

"Oh no! While we were at the funeral an evil cop put a curse on D! We have to travel back in time to retrieve a magical item from... the Tulsa Massacre! Let's go!"

And so on.

Less 80s nostalgia. More shows set in late 90's/early 2000's, please.

I've only watched the first few episodes, but I love it. My favorite thing is they've got actual teenagers going around swearing all the time. I recognize how childish that makes me sound, and I don't care.

Also, UGIS...haha.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

We finished The Vow. Found the first stretch of episodes quite gripping, but the latter half were a real drag. I don't understand why they spent so much time dawdling in these pointless side-stories. Could've been a solid 5-episode miniseries, instead it's this bloated bore.

Meanwhile, Seduced -- a 4-episode miniseries by Starz about the same cult, but focused on India Oxenberg's story -- is much, much better based on the two episodes that are out. We weren't planning on watching more NXIVM stuff after The Vow fizzled out, but decided to check it out after hearing multiple people talk about how much more compelling it is. And yeah, it is much more visceral. Deeper analysis of cult dynamics from a variety of voices, information presented more concretely. It certainly helps that The Vow has helped share the general story more, but we get more voices of former members, researchers on cults and cult tactics, useful background info. Also India's grandmother -- an actual princess -- is an amazing shittalker.
