I feel really fortunate for the two times I got to see them, especially that last show in Melbourne.

Right around the time Echo of Miles came out I got really heavy into Soundgarden for a while, just indulging in that collection and some of the pre-Badmotorfinger stuff that I never really gave a fair shot to when I was a kid. I definitely feel like I appreciate them more now than I did at the time, though I have no interest in hearing them with a new singer -- that whole concept just doesn't excite me at all.

Yeah I’m the same way about the new singer. Never understood that concept. I get the argument “well what about a new guitarist?” But to me personally, the singer is who I connect with in a band.Kevin Davis wrote:bodysnatcher wrote:I’ve been listening to a ton of Soundgarden lately. If they start a new band and try not to tread on old Soundgarden material, then that’s all fine. But trying to replace a singer is when I completely lose interest, no matter how good they are.

I would very happily listen to instrumentals from Kim, Ben and Matt!
In fact, I feel like they could pull off an entire instrumental album that is worthy of repeated listening. I doubt it will happens though!

Matt plays drums for PJ so maybe Ed will sing for Soundgarden? I bet he could put a little fixin on a song like Non State Actor.

The 'nudedragonsoffical' Instagram account had a post today commemorating the 8th anniversary of King Animal:https://www.instagram.com/p/CHiAIGgpuu9/
As per usual, the post was full of details about the release that you would never find on the 'offical' Soundgarden account.
What seems quite promising was a statement made in the first sentence of the post:
THERE IS HOPE.

SO FAR....On this date in 2012, Soundgarden released their 7th studio album (so far), King Animal, on Republic records in the U.S. and Vertigo records internationally.
THERE IS HOPE.
