I like wearing a mask in public because I don't like interacting with people. You don't have to smile. I'm way more comfortable.

Interesting. I actually thought the opposite yesterday, that because people can't see a smile anymore I have to go more out my way to achieve basic social interaction that could normally be covered by a small smile or facial expression.tree_ wrote:I like wearing a mask in public because I don't like interacting with people. I hate wearing a mask while I workout but it is nice that the ugly faces I make while lifting are covered up.

I had a minor mixup on a food order and went out of my way to be extra nice to the folks so they would know I wasn't put out, for this exact reason. The mask definitely makes you a little more inscrutable.4/5 wrote:Interesting. On the flip side, one thing I love about wearing a mask in the food and bev industry is that you can silently mouth all sorts of things to stupid fucking customers that you would usually get in trouble for muttering under your breath.

I feel naked without my mask now. I wish they were forever mandatory in public.

I usually wear homemade ones that wrap around your head with an elastic band. On the occasion that I forget them or they aren't washed, I have to wear the disposable ones that go over your ears. When I wear those, it makes so much more sense why people very intensely don't like wearing them.

I wore the disposables exclusively because my work provided them. As long as they weren’t too small/tight, they were fine.washing machine wrote:I usually wear homemade ones that wrap around your head with an elastic band. I'm a fan of the over the ear ones that have adjustable straps so they're not too loose or too tight.

Pro-tip, verb: when you're running you can wear a bandana around your head like this and just pull the triangle fold over your face when you pass the elderly ladies walking on the running path at 5:45 in the morning.
