We've been having family picnics on the tailgate of our car after pickup orders lately just to mix it up. I can only eat so many meals at the dining room table.

Re: Curbside versus Delivery
So, I put the order in on-line and was given a 50 minute timeframe. Not a big deal, but figure I'll call just to be sure my food doesn't sit around for 30 minutes while I wait. Phone number goes straight to a full mailbox.Order Online and we’ll have your order waiting for you 20 minutes later. If you don’t do online, call us at 919.942.1133 to place your order.
I've been getting takeout at this place for a decade. It's not like they're new to this.
Is this because I'm a cop?
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Re: Curbside versus Delivery
Last week, my wife and I discussed possibly going in-store for groceries. Now cases are surging again so I bet that doesn't happen.

Re: Curbside versus Delivery
Curbside was perfect early days. No traffic, plenty of parking lane to pull into. Then things opened up more and it began to resemble the big city hustle and bustle a bit more, so we shifted toward delivery again for convenience.
Now Chicago Mag came out with their top ten sandwiches, so thinking we may use that as an excuse for some low risk curbside/carry out trips out and about to stave off cabin fever.

Re: Curbside versus Delivery
My family and I went for an actual shopping trip for the first time since March today. We mapped out our route based on our list and it was pretty stress free except for when we got to the cashier line.Bammer wrote:Wait you guys still aren’t going to the grocery store?
I like that the sense of urgency kept us from impulse buying needless things.

I really wanted to buy a butchered hog head and some papayas, but it would not have been responsible in the same week our mortgage comes out.Chris_H_2 wrote:this is actually one of my favorite parts about going to the grocery storewashing machine wrote:I like that the sense of urgency kept us from impulse buying needless things.

pro tip: it's always cheaper to buy the whole hog and then butcher it yourselfwashing machine wrote:I really wanted to buy a butchered hog head and some papayas, but it would not have been responsible in the same week our mortgage comes out.Chris_H_2 wrote:this is actually one of my favorite parts about going to the grocery storewashing machine wrote:I like that the sense of urgency kept us from impulse buying needless things.

I fear I have over simplified my overall grocery strategy and situation by touting the beautifully efficient business model of Aldi on this board.
