I have always been a massive fan of this series and im currently on a rewatch after a long time. I think its brilliant and it paved the way a lot of good things but never touched.

I loved it when it was on. Malcolm is probably the least funny character.

I enjoyed it while it was on. The parents were perfectly cast; I remember the Hal role being something Phil Hartman would have been good at.
On an overnight flight back from Phoenix Frankie Muniz was on my plane last year. He's still instantly recognizable.
I don't know if he had a middle seat or not.

Im not sure about that. I love how weird he is. Love how much he suffers from being so smart. I guess the whole family is very funny.

This and Married with Children have the same problem for me, which is they're a little too close to home. But I still like both shows.

the one episode that stands out is when malcom's classmates think the family is poor and start a food drive

Hal mentions how he just enjoyed a can of prunes from the food drive and lois is like, there were no prunes

turnes out it was a can of expired peaches and hal ends up in the hospital

the three sons are in the room having a heart to heart talk

all of a sudden hal farts in his sleep

everyone looks on in disbelief

I fucking love how filthy and awful they kept their house. The porch is just awful. And loooove how Hal and Lois had a great house, great life before the kids.

even season 1 is way better than most of the stuff that precedes this one. I feel its the series The Simpsons didnt become.
