The Overnight (2015).

What a weird movie. Adam Scott makes weird movies. I usually laugh a lot during them, though. So...

yesterday I found out that Macaulauy Culkin and Elijah Wood starred in a psychological horror movie called "The Good Son" in 1993, so I needed to watch that immediately; I did, and it was fucking great

I then watched "Over The Moon" on Netflix and cried a lot, what a beautiful and moving animation

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I loved The Good Son. I remember seeing it theaters. My friend and I argued about the ending for a long time. It was awesome.

Glad you liked it. I haven't seen it in years. Good to know it holds up.

So, y'all know my penchant for romantic comedies... I watched 'Love, Guaranteed' on Netflix. It's completely laughable but charming enough that I had a good time. Damon Wayans Jr was really good. I've never seen him be not a cartoon (which he does well, btw) before.

Spoiler: show
whether or not the ending was really "shocking" or not. All the marketing material advertised a twist ending that was super shocking. My friend didn't think it was surprising at all. He thought it was obvious.

Filmed in my hometown. I used to swim off that bridge they run across! My buddy was ice skating with Macauley. He put his hand on Macauley's arm, who pushed him off and said "I'm not your buddy!" He was right. :(
Was also filmed in Minnesota! The north shore. The scenes at the end of the film above the cliffs.

I fucking love that movie.
