Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The bit during his monologue about his grandmother...I was hollering!

That bit was the biggest laugh of the night for me. I knew his monologue wouldn't disappoint. I like Mulaney's standup best in 10-15 minute bursts instead of over an hour.
The big musical production was good but nothing could compete with the unexpected shock & awe, and that they pulled it off so well, of the lobster bisque first one. I'd be okay if they retire that idea when he hosts again. The Birds & Headless Horseman though was pure silly fun. The pre-taped bits were fine but forgettable. I guess the memes skit was the weakest but still had a couple chuckles.
That makes sense regarding Aidy and Cecily, wasn't Keenan getting his own show?

So obviously I got the schedule wrong.
Chappelle's monologue had to of run long. With the Notre Dame-Clemson going late the episode felt rushed. The first real sketch was pretty good, in part because of the breaks. Other than that I thought the sketches were pretty average. The one with the OJ footage was a one joke premise but it was a pretty good joke but I think it would have played better on Weekend Update. Speaking of Update the giddiness there was palpable. Weekend Update felt shortened for time, which was a shame since it felt like it was the best one of the season with some great parting lines for Trump.

The monologue and the first skit were fantastic. The rest of the episode was fine to bad. The Mario bit was fucking terrible. A couple of great moments in Update. I agree that it all felt rushed and hobbled overall. But I was in such a good mood that I just didn't take care.

Would love to see Baldwin retire the Trump roll in Jan. Have him take off the wig and such on air and set it aside never to return.
