God damn it, Mickey.

Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Should we apply this level of across the board concern for bigger concerns like climate change? Not driving any where works. Not eating meat works. Not travelling internationally works. Not living in single family dwellings works. It may be hard and it may take a toll but there is no denying that it works.LetMeSleep wrote:Guys, social distancing and masks with good hygiene works. Killing everyone below the tropic of cancer and banning human habitation there would as well. It would also preserve the remaining wild spaces on earth.surfndestroy wrote:Should we apply this level of across the board concern for bigger concerns like climate change? Are you doing the killing? If so, go for it. As with wearing masks and limiting ones social circle and outing, I thought we were talking about scientific actions one can and should take at a personal level. However, I was not clear.Bi_3 wrote:Killing everyone below the tropic of cancer and banning human habitation there would as well. There seem to be 2 discussions that are getting mixed up. What would stop the spread of the virus? And what is actually possible within each society?

Possibly a third is something along the lines of not giving a shit about what someone's attitude is but focus on their actions. Verb gets shit on for wearing a mask with a "poor" attitude. Meanwhile with climate change, a much larger existential threat people go about with great attitudes while doing fuck all. The disconnect is a joke.LetMeSleep wrote:There seem to be 2 discussions that are getting mixed up. What would stop the spread of the virus? And what is actually possible within each society?

if to curb the spread of the disease people can wear a mask and socially distance for X amount of months is feasible
telling people not to drive to work is not feasible since some people live 30-40 miles away from work and a bike ride or a skateboard ride wouldnt work. also there isnt always public transportation routes for people to use
are there things that people can do to limit climate change? sure, just like there are things people can do to limit the spread of a disease
Did the Mother Fucker pay extra to yell?

People will need to stop traveling for 2 months. The northern hemisphere's winter might help in that sense.LetMeSleep wrote:There seem to be 2 discussions that are getting mixed up. What would stop the spread of the virus? And what is actually possible within each society?

There's also the issue of if you do one thing then you should do everything and not doing every single thing makes you a hypocrite. If there are 10 issues and you can address even 5 of them then that is something.

Every time my baby son throws a body contorting, gator rolling rage fit during diaper changes I think of the anti-maskers.

Buying an electric car will be the climate change cloth face covering. It won't really do much to stop the problem but you will feel like you're doing your part while conglomerates like Nestle or whatever drive the planet ever faster to hell's gate.

Social distancing and masks actually work. I don't know why you keep acting like they don't.verb_to_trust wrote:Buying an electric car will be the climate change cloth face covering. Re: Anybody want a Corona?
It's more complicated than just saying "masks work". That is a true statement but at the same time, masks aren't saving you. Just let go of the need to feel like you can control everything. Isn't it exhausting?spike wrote:He’s a depressed person who trolls on the internet for a cheap endorphin hit between whack off sessions.
